Filed under: 29-Day Giving Challenge.It’s still two days till Valentine’s Day, but I spent the better part of last night writing Valentine’s Day cards to friends and family so that I could get them in the mail today. Hopefully, the cards will make it to everyone by Saturday! Since this is a very short “give” entry, I thought I’d include some interesting Valentine’s Day facts:
According to the United States Greeting Card Association, one billion valentines are sent each year worldwide, making the day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year, behind Christmas.
On average, men spend twice as much money on Valentine’s Day as women.
Hallmark has over 1330 different cards specifically for Valentine’s Day.
15% of U.S. women send themselves flowers on Valentine’s Day.
In addition to the United States, Valentine’s Day is celebrated in Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, France, Australia, Denmark and Italy.
