Save the Date cards
Posted by Kate on January 19th, 2009. Filed under: Wedding.I was very excited to create the Save the Date cards for our wedding. I sifted through lots of ideas from friends, in magazines and on the Internet. I finally decided that I wanted to do a retro photo strip. Jared and I recruited Cara Carlson, a New Jersey-based photographer who runs Crane Photography, to make our Save the Date vision a reality. Cara took lots of photos of us and worked with them in Photoshop to get the look and feel we were hoping for. We were extremely happy with the end product!
We’ve gotten rave reviews from friends and family who have received the Save the Date so I thought I would share the image (with watermark) here:

Once the Save the Date cards were done and printed, I went to Staples to buy red and light blue envelopes. I then ordered cute return address labels with the same color scheme as the cards and Love stamps from the Post Office. Here’s what the Save the Date cards looked like just before I mailed them out:

Here are a few of the pictures that didn’t make the cut:

so cute! What a good idea with the photobooth strip. I like the red and blue splashes of color added to the black and white. Very nice.

I have your save-the-date up on my fridge and it looks awesome up there. I’m sure that whenever people see it, they’ll say things like, “awwwww that’s cute!”
