Primed for 2009
Posted by Kate on January 4th, 2009. Filed under: Musings.I’m a few days late, but 2009 is finally upon us! 2008 was great and 2009 holds many wonderful events and opportunities in store.
Like many of you, I made new years resolutions, and hopefully they will serve as my guide for 2009. I have to say though that the only downside of new year’s resolutions is how crowded the gym gets during the month of January. EVERYONE resolves to get in shape in the new year. As a frequent visitor to the gym, these new year’s resolutions put a cramp in my routine. Of course, the gym crowd thins out by mid-February as people inevitably forget their resolutions, but it’s still a pain to deal with all those imposters for over a month.
Despite the crowded gym, I feel that new year’s resolutions are beneficial to all of us. The new year serves as an opportunity to wipe the slate clean and start anew. I resolve this year to:
1) Be patient. I can’t count the number of times I roll my eyes and sigh each time I am annoyed with someone or something. This resolution should probably start with all those new people at the gym who are following through on their resolutions, but also annoy people like me who are regulars and now have to deal with crowds and a longer wait for equipment.
2) Be grateful. I have so much to be grateful for in my life, but I seem to get so caught up in every day life, forgetting about the many blessings I’ve been bestowed.
3) Be thoughtful. I will try to think of others before myself and put myself in others people’s shoes.
4) Be genuine. I would like to stay true to myself and not concern myself with what other people think of me.
5) Find My Chances. I will continue to work hard to create opportunities for myself and seize those chances that come along in my life.
I’d love to hear your 2009 resolutions and what you think of my goals.
Here’s to a spectactular 2009! Cheers!!
