Find Your Chances

So, it’s my first post on Find Your Chances! It’s a very exciting day. For those of you who have stumbled across this blog and don’t know me, I’m a twenty-something girl who grew up in South Jersey.  I graduated from Boston College in 2003 with a BA in English, and I recently graduated from Columbia University with a MS in Strategic Communications. I am pursuing a career in marketing, and my job path has already taken me from a major publishing house and financial institutions in New York City to a small branding studio and a local marketing agency. In my (limited) free time, I enjoy reading, traveling, running (2 marathons under my belt already!), and enjoying my wonderful friends and family.

The name Find Your Chances comes from the New Pornographers song Jackie, Dressed in Cobras. I’m a fan of the New Pornographers, and  although their lyrics are not always the easiest to discern, I think that finding your chances in life is SO important. With hard work and a little bit of luck, opportunities abound for each of us, but it is our responsibility to find and make those chances and take advantage of them.

Finally, I would like to give a special shout out to Amber who blogs at my aim is true for helping me to set up Find Your Chances.  I’m hoping to develop my programming and design skills in the near future, but her help at this beginning stage is very much appreaciated.
